Shelbie Curry, ARNP, FNP-C
A born helper, Shelbie’s passion for healthcare started at age five. She remembers walking the halls of Mercy Hospital for morning rounds as a young teen shadowing her family practice physician. Shelbie completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Iowa and worked as a nurse for several years. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing Family Practice degree at Graceland and has been practicing as a nurse practitioner in the Des Moines metro for 13 years.
Shelbie believes in treating patients holistically – mind, body, and spirit – rather than focusing only on the symptoms of an illness. Her goal is to address the root cause through a systems-based biological approach. Shelbie knows creating a calm and safe environment in the clinic is essential as she helps patients gain optimal function.
She grew up and resides in Grimes with her husband, daughter, and dog Bella. Her two boys are in college and live nearby (which she loves). Her time outside of work and family is spent reading, lifting weights, and tending to her plants.
